The BEST Pokemon Card Scanner Apps in 2026 (Ranked)

What is the best Pokemon card scanner app for iOS and Android? We tested them all and ranked them in this article.

The BEST Pokemon Card Scanner Apps in 2026 (Ranked)

The days of manually searching and looking up each individual Pokemon card to find their prices are long gone. It's never been easier to find a card's value and that is thanks to Pokemon card scanner apps. These apps allow you to scan a card, see its value, and usually add it to a collection to track its value over time.

Due to the surge in popularity in the Pokemon TCG, we've seen numerous card scanners pop up in recent years. Some are great and others are a bit lacking. In this article, we test and dive into each of the top card scanning apps you should know about and ultimately which one you should use.

The short answer: The fastest app with accurate and updated prices pulled from TCGPlayer, Cardmarket, and Ebay sold listings is PokeVision. Card results were typically returned in under 1 second (0.6 seconds on average) and it uses a realtime scan feature that doesn't require manual photos to be taken. While testing, we were able to scan and price ~100 cards in under 3 minutes using the app. The UI is clean and it has a nice premium feel overall. Also, PokeVision gets bonus points for its privacy practices as it runs locally on-device and does not send card images to an external server like many other apps.

Things To Consider

Not all card scan apps are created equal. Some are faster than others, some require you take individual pictures (which is much slower and more cumbersome), others use realtime scanning, and some may even have privacy concerns and potentially use your card images for AI training data and more.

App Testing Criteria

  1. Speed
  2. Accuracy
  3. Variants
  4. Grading support (PSA, TAG, etc)
  5. Collection tracking
  6. Signup, onboarding, and UI
  7. Privacy and data
  8. Available platforms

Testing The Pokemon Card Scanner Apps

PokeVision

PokeVision App Image

The PokeVision app is hands down the fastest scanner available. Cards were identified in under 1 second, typically around 0.6 seconds on average. Newly released Pokemon TCG sets and expansions are in the app and the card database is quite extensive and has nearly every card released, including more rare and obscure drops such as McDonald's collections.

Pros:

  1. Scanning is realtime and very fast; card results and prices are returned nearly immediately.
  2. Card prices are accurate and pulled from reliable/popular marketplaces (TCGPlayer, CardMarket, and Ebay sold listings). Buy links being included on each card page are a nice addition.
  3. Variants can be selected for each card and prices update accordingly (Holo, reverse holo, etc).
  4. Card grades can also be selected on card pages and prices update to reflect the grade selected. All popular grading companies are included and shown when sales have occurred for that particular grading company and grade number received.
  5. Cards can be added to a collection and the entire value is tracked and updated daily. Collections can be exported to CSV for easy backups; not being locked to the app is pro consumer and a plus.
  6. There is no account creation required during onboarding and no personal information like email, name, etc is collected either. Onboarding is short and sweet and there is no hard paywall; users can enter and begin using the app before paying. The app's design and UI feel premium and high quality; it is built specifically for Pokemon TCG collectors.
  7. The scanning feature runs entirely on the user's device and is not sent externally to a server for processing. Card scans are not used to train any AI models.
  8. PokeVision is available on both iOS and Android devices.

Cons:

  • Card variants and grades currently must be manually set on card pages to reflect those prices. We would like to see these automated in the scanner feature in a future release.
  • There is currently no ability to create more than one collection and all cards are added to it.
  • The app is intended for collection and value/price tracking and is not a marketplace to sell cards.

Collectr

Collectr app image

Collectr is essentially the Robinhood of TCG collection apps. It doesn't just focus on Pokemon cards, but instead spans just about every single popular card game that people collect including One Piece, YuGiOh, Lorcana, and more. Because of this, the app is a bit more broad and doesn't feel built specifically for Pokemon card collectors.

Pros:

  1. Extensive portfolio tracking with a more in-depth deep dive into values.
  2. The app has focused social and sharing features included.
  3. The UI is polished and the app is fairly easy to navigate.
  4. You can create more than one collection and add cards to each that you choose.
  5. The app is available on iOS and Android devices.

Cons:

  1. Scanning cards is not very fast and often feels clunky; you have to take pictures of each card and the scanner is not realtime. The scanner experience is not great and leaves a lot to be desired. Bulk scanning is painfully slow and annoying.
  2. Adding card variants and grades is not the most straightforward process and can be quite confusing. Because the app covers many different TCGs and is not Pokemon focused only, it feels less granular in card variants.
  3. Signing up for an account is required to use the app and track card values.
  4. Card scans do appear to be sent externally off the user's device to third party servers for processing. It is not clear if these images are used to train AI models, but significant user data does appear to be shared and stored when using this app, which is a negative for us.

Rare Candy

rare candy app image

The Rare Candy app is one that feels like a jack of all trades that tries to do many different things but fails to really perfect any one of them. The app tries to be a scanner, collection manager, marketplace, social app, and online pack opener app all in one, but for us, we'd much rather prefer an app that perfects a few great features instead of one that has many more features which feel subpar.

Note: We also aren't big fans of the online pack rip mechanic they recently added. This allows users to open packs online and feels more like a cash grab gambling mechanic than a useful feature in a collection tracking app.

Pros:

  1. The app's UI is nice and it feels easy to navigate; it's well designed.
  2. The marketplace/shop functionality is unique.
  3. The collection tracking screen is nice and has helpful additional data/filtering options.
  4. The app is available on iOS and Android.

Cons:

  1. By far, the biggest negative for us is the app's addition of "Instapacks", which is their online pack opening mechanic that feels more like gambling and seems out of place in an app that should be focused on pricing and collection tracking.
  2. The scanning feature is a bit confusing to use and does not feel intuitive. While there is an auto-detect option that can be enabled for scanning, the app still takes pictures in this mode and seems to need to send them to an external server for processing. It is a bit clunky feeling and is not very fast at identifying cards. From our testing, it took on average 2-3 seconds for card images to be processed (which is quite slow when compared to other apps and is likely due to them processing card images on their servers). Even worse, multiple cards we tested were not properly identified and no results were found. Furthermore, it's not clear if these images are being used to train AI models, but other apps are able to scan cards entirely on the user's device so this is a big negative for us.
  3. Being forced to sign up for an account to use the app feels unnecessary.
  4. The app is not directly Pokemon focused, but rather is an "all in one" TCG app.
  5. The social functionality to us doesn't feel that it adds much value.

TCGPlayer

TCGPlayer app image

The TCGPlayer marketplace has their own app which has a card scanner feature included. The app feels a bit clunky to use and is a general TCG app, not Pokemon card specific. We wouldn't recommend using this app for tracking your collection, but you may consider using it if you plan to list all of the cards that you scan to sell on the TCGPlayer marketplace.

Pros:

  1. Being able to buy and sell cards scanned through the app is useful.
  2. If you use the TCGPlayer website often, the app is a nice mobile companion to take on the go.
  3. TCGPlayer has a large user base to sell your cards and inventory to.

Cons:

  1. The realtime scanner functionality was not very accurate during our testing and when trying to scan individual cards, it added multiple different cards that were incorrect. It also felt a bit slow and clunky to use. Part way through our testing, the scanner just stopped recognizing cards entirely and would not work at all. It is not the best card scanner experience compared to other apps on this list and we would not use it again.
  2. After some research, it appears you need to be a level 4 seller in order to sell the cards you scan into your collection via the app.
  3. In order to add scanned cards to your collection, you must first sign up for an account.
  4. It is not tailored to Pokemon TCG collectors and feels lacking in features and accuracy compared to Pokemon specific card apps.
